Manchester United star Marcus Rashford is expected to operate as the main striker under new manager Ruben Amorim, according to Goal.com
The England international has had a frustrating campaign with just four goals. He started the season on the left wing before moving to the right flank.
Amorim has played him up front in a 3-4-2-1 set-up in training and reports claim that Rashford could be the club’s regular striker going forward.
Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have failed to impress up front and the duo have netted a combined tally of just three goals in the current season.
Rashford has impressed in the past leading the line with his pace and finishing skills. He could emerge as a wildcard option for Amorim in the near future.
Amorim has his sights on reuniting with Swedish striker Viktor Gyokeres, but the United board are unlikely to spend big on any player until the summer.
Zirkzee has already expressed his displeasure over his situation at Old Trafford and he could make way for the arrival of Gyokeres at the end of the season.
