Manchester United have been handed a boost with Lille midfielder Angel Gomes turning down a new contract with the French outfit.
The Englishman was in the United academy until the summer of 2020 when he chose to join Lille on a free transfer agreement.
He has since developed into a key player for them, but could leave them when his contract expires in the summer of 2025.
Gomes recently opened the door for a reunion with United and reports claim that he has no desire to pen a new Lille contract.
It remains to be seen whether United make a contract offer. Gomes will be free to negotiate terms with foreign clubs from January.
Newcastle United are also keeping tabs on the 24-year-old, who has made a tremendous start to his England career this year.
He recently provided a fantastic assist for Jack Grealish‘s goal against Finland. Gomes has a huge future ahead of him.
Gomes has the ability to play anywhere in midfield.
